INEZ, Ky. — A Martin County man has been arrested after residents of an Inez home said they found him leaving their house after breaking in.
The residents told the Martin County Sheriff’s Office they returned home to find 50-year-old Ernest Jarvis running out the front door as they pulled into their driveway. They also said he had apparently cut wires to their security cameras, then broke in and rummaged through the house.
The police report says when deputies made contact with him, Jarvis assumed an aggressive stance and indicated he would not be going anywhere with officers. It further notes he actively resisted being placed under arrest.
After being placed in restraints, the police report says Jarvis sat down and refused to walk to the police car. He was eventually pulled up and escorted to the vehicle.
Jarvis was arrested on charges of second-degree burglary, criminal mischief, menacing and resisting arrest. He is being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bond.
