The Mingo County Health Department is confirming its seventh case of COVID-19.
In a statement issued Monday, the health department says a 34-year-old female who exhibited symptoms of the virus had tested positive and is isolating at home. The health department says all those who were in close contact with her are being notified.
The health department says the case is the seventh in the county out of 936 tests. The county also has two probable cases, the statement says. The county has experienced one COVID-19-related death.
The health department could not comment as to whether this latest case is related to an announcement made by Williamson Health and Wellness Center last week that several staff members had tested positive for the virus.
