Police investigate after body found

PHELPS, Ky. — Police have now the released the identity of a man whose body was discovered in Pike County earlier this week.

Kentucky State Police received a call just after 9 Monday morning that a body had been found along an abandoned mine road at Phelps. The body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy and identification.

The man has now been identified as Hazard Miller, 74, of Feds Creek.

The cause of death is still undetermined.

Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by the Phelps Volunteer Fire Department.
