MATEWAN, W.Va. — Timothy Kennedy, 29, of Beech Creek, the man wanted for shooting and killing West Virginia State Police Sgt. Cory Maynard, is now in custody.
Police say Kennedy killed Maynard and then fled into the surrounding area, prompting a manhunt for several hours.
Word of his arrest came just before 11 p.m. Details of his capture were not immediately available.
