MARROWBONE, Ky. — A traffic stop in Pike County on Monday resulted in two people being arrested for fentanyl trafficking.

A Kentucky State Police trooper pulled over a vehicle for speeding and other violations along Route 195 at Marrowbone last Monday night. While speaking to the driver, Adam Baker, 20, of Draffin, the officer noticed the scent of marijuana coming from the vehicle, and Baker reportedly admitted there was marijuana inside.

The officer then asked a woman in the passenger’s seat, identified as Briana Owens, 25, of Grundy, Va., if she had any drugs, and she reportedly produced a bag of fentanyl from her pocket.

A search of the car revealed several more bags of fentanyl in the trunk.

Both Baker and Owens were arrested for fentanyl trafficking and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Both continue to be held in the Pike County Detention Center.
