SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — Two children are dead and a third remains hospitalized, following a UTV crash in Magoffin County Saturday evening.

It happened on Route 7 in Salyersville, just after 7 p.m. Saturday. According to Kentucky State Police, three children were riding a 2018 Polaris UTV, when the vehicle left the road, plunged over an embankment and struck a tree.

The 15-year-old driver was taken to a local hospital and is reported to be in critical condition, police said. A 15-year-old passenger died at the scene, while a 4-year-old passenger was taken to a hospital and later died.

The incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
