SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — A Magoffin County man was arrested Sunday evening, after a caller reported that he was shooting at cars driving past his Lick Creek home.

The caller told police that William Coffey, 58, was on his front porch, shooting at cars as they drove by.

When sheriff’s deputies arrived at his home, they found him unconscious on his couch in the living room, with a handgun lying beside him. Deputies also found spent shell casings on the front porch by the door.

Coffey was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, a felony punishable by 1-to-5 years in prison. He is being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, in Paintsville.
