It was previously reported that Pierre Lidge, 24, of Akron, was arrested June 5 after being pulled over for reckless driving. But an FBI affidavit in his federal case file reveals Lidge had already been under investigation by Virginia authorities.

On the day of his arrest, Virginia State Police had recorded Lidge selling meth to an undercover informant. That was the third time police had recorded him in a drug transaction.

In previous instances, Lidge left Virginia and crossed into Kentucky, so Kentucky State Police was waiting for him when he passed through Stopover. After following him for a couple of miles, he was pulled over, ostensibly for the traffic violation, although Virginia police had notified Kentucky that the drug buy had been successful.

After he was pulled over, police found approximately 3 ounces of meth inside his car, along with two bags of marijuana, a handgun and cash, including marked bills used by Virginia State Police in the undercover drug buy.

Lidge has now been charged with possession of more than 50 grams of meth with the intent to distribute and possession of a firearm in a drug trafficking crime.

He remains in the Pike County Detention Center.
