West Virginia residents can get free seeds for their gardens, simply by filling out an online questionnaire.

The seeds are from the West Virginia University Extension Family Nutrition Program, as part of its “Grow this: West Virginia Garden Challenge.”

Organizers of the effort say it can help families with the high cost of food.

And not only will the seeds provide healthy vegetables to local gardens, they’ll also add some color. Seeds included in the giveaway include purple carrots, red kale and multi-colored baby bell peppers.

Seeds should arrive in April.
