“Fishing with Kids” event scheduled at Pikeville Pond

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (MTN) — A free “Fishing with Kids” outdoor event will be taking place on August 8 at the Pikeville City Pond between the hours of 6 PM – 8 PM.

According to a Facebook post from Chad Webb and the City of Pikeville, any participants who are 14 years and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Registration will open at 5 PM on August 8 at the Boat Ramp side of the pond behind 3rd street next to the extension office.

Everyone that registers will receive a ticket and be entered to win a prize including a youth kayak sponsored by the City of Pikeville Trail Town Committee, a 10-speed bicycle, a mountain bicycle, fishing gear and more.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this event is limited to 150 participants and free fishing poles will be provided to kids while supplies last.
