Johnson man charged with trafficking near Lawrence County school

LOUISA, Ky. — A Johnson County man has been arrested on charges of selling drugs within 1,000 feet of an elementary school.

A Louisa police officer and Lawrence County deputy went to a room at the Budget Inn in Louisa, looking for Dale Bowen, 46, of Leander, who was wanted on four active warrants. Bowen answered the door and was immediately placed under arrest.

Inside the room, the officers found 10 grams of meth, along with cash, paraphernalia and trafficking materials. The police report notes the motel is situated 664 feet from Louisa East Elementary School.

In addition to the other warrants, Bowen now faces new charges of meth trafficking, trafficking within 1,000 feet of a school and other drug-related charges.
