PIKEVILLE, Ky. — One of the two people who were arrested for allegedly trying to pawn jewelry stolen from Kay Jewelers in Pikeville last week has now been charged with stealing it.
Aaron Hall, 50, of Pikeville, and Shawnna Maynard, 44, of Banner, were arrested in Floyd County Sunday and charged with receiving stolen property. Now Hall has also been charged with felony shoplifting in Pike County.
Police believe Hall is the masked man who went into Kay Jewelers last Wednesday and asked to look at a $3,800 engagement set, then walked out of the store with the jewelry and fled in a car that had been left running in the road outside the store.
Because of the value of the jewelry, both the receiving stolen property and theft charges are felonies, punishable by up to five years in prison.
