PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Students in Pike County will return to the classroom next week, following a week of online learning.
Pike County Schools began a week of virtual instruction Oct. 19, after the county was listed as a “red” county — the most severe category of COVID-19 transmission.
But Pike County fell back out of the red on Monday and has remained in the gold category ever since.
As a result, the school district announced in-person classes would resume on Monday, although students who attend virtually may continue to do so.
