Pikeville Independent ranked as top place to teach in Kentucky

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — The Pikeville Independent School District is receiving high praise from a website specializing in providing information about local schools.

The district was ranked first in Kentucky as the best place to teach by niche.com. It also scored as the fourth-best school district, seventh-best for teachers, and 12th-best for athletes.

In addition, the district ranked in the top 500 out of around 11,000 districts nationally.

Supt. David Trimble said he is proud of the district in a Facebook post.

“Always extremely proud of the outstanding students, faculty, staff, board members, families and community members who pour themselves into Pikeville Independent Schools,” Trimble wrote. “The work that takes place at Pikeville Elementary School and Pikeville High School is truly amazing, and makes this district such a special place.”
