Randy Keathley, 57, was arrested last October after Pikeville Police responded to a panic alarm at his home.

When they arrived, they found him outside, saying he’d just had a new security system installed and had pressed the panic button to see if it worked. But police soon discovered he was wanted on three warrants and placed him under arrest.

After telling police he had soiled himself and asking to change clothes, officers found fentanyl hidden in his dirty clothes.

Keathley was indicted by a federal grand jury on charge of possession of fentanyl with the intent to distribute in January and entered a guilty plea in April. On Thursday, he was sentenced to five years in prison.

Keathley is currently being held in the Pike County Detention Center, awaiting transfer to the federal prison system.
