COWAN, Ky. — Police are investigating after a woman was found shot to death in Letcher County.

Kentucky State Police responded to a report Thursday of an unresponsive woman on Dinah Blair Hollow Road. When they arrived, they found Angela Roberts, 59, of Whitesburg, dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Roberts’ remains have been sent to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for autopsy.
