PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — An attempted traffic stop in Prestonsburg resulted in the recovery of a stolen motorcycle and sent a Virginia man to jail.
A Prestonsburg Police officer attempted to pull over a Harley Davidson on U.S. 23 around 3:30 Monday morning. The driver fled onto Abbott Creek Road, then hid on someone’s property.
The operator, identified as 22-year-old Joseph Tanner Bolen, of Meadowview, Virginia, was later found. He told police he bought the bike from a “Mexican dude” in Ashland for $800, but that he didn’t get a bill of sale and did not know the man’s name.
However, the motorcycle had been reported stolen in Ashland.
Bolen was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property.
