Traffic stop leads to heroin trafficking arrest

AUXIER, Ky. — A Johnson County man was arrested on drug trafficking and other charges, after being pulled over Monday night in Floyd County.

Gary Warick, 55, of Hager Hill, was pulled over by the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office at Auxier.

Following a sweep by the department’s police dog Drago, deputies discovered heroin and Xanax. Officers also recovered a number of guns, despite Warick being previously convicted of drug trafficking in 2010. The stop also led to the recovery of a stolen ATV.

Warick is currently charged with heroin trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, evidence tampering, and menacing.
