CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that Kelly was an employee of the UPS Store, as is indicated in the police report. However, it has come to our attention that he was an employee of UPS, not the UPS Store.

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — An employee of UPS in Pike County has been arrested, after being accused of stealing packages from the business.

Pikeville Police responded after the store manager reported that an employee witnessed Adam Kelly, 43, of Jenkins, running from his workplace with packages and bags of merchandise and placing them in his car.

When police spoke to Kelly, he opened the trunk of his car, where several packages were found. He reportedly then admitted to taking packages of sports cards worth more than $1,000 from a loaded UPS truck.

Kelly was fired from his job and banned from the premises, then arrested on a charge of felony theft. He has since been released on bond.
