PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Michigan man found his way to the Pike County jail, after police reportedly found him with several pounds of marijuana.
Police were called to Bob Amos Park Thursday evening over a report of a reckless driver. They pulled over William Byrd Jr., 59, of Burton, Mich., who told officers that he was on his way to Alabama.
Byrd reportedly first told police there was nothing illegal in his car, then later reportedly said there was a little bit of marijuana. After police asked to search the car, he then told them there was more than a little bit.
A search then revealed 30 glass jars of marijuana inside the car, with a total weight of 3-and-a-half pounds.
Byrd was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and numerous traffic violations.
